Stuttgart – numerous green areas and parks, a great cultural scene, iconic neighbourhoods, vineyards in the middle of the city, mineral baths in which to relax, and much more – in short: it's easy to feel at home in this city. As an industrial location, you need to be well connected at all times, while also being able to reach all the relevant points on the outskirts, too. In the Stuttgart area, the small town of Ostfildern, with 40,000 inhabitants and located in the immediate vicinity of Stuttgart Airport, is ideal for this. The large district town on the eastern Fildern was formed in 1975 from the previously independent communities of Nellingen (with park settlement), Ruit, Kemnat and Scharnhausen, as part of a municipal reform. Another district has now been added, the Scharnhauser Park, a family friendly place to live and work, with exemplary environmental credentials, in the ambience of the 21st century.
